I am so pleased to welcome you to third grade and my class. We have so many great and exciting things planned to ensure that your child’s learning experience is rewarding and enjoyable. Let me start by sharing some things about me so that in turn you can share them with your third grader.
I was born in Whitsett, North Carolina. Whitsett is a small town in between Burlington and Greensboro. I came to ECU for college and I decided to stay and teach in Greenville!
Growing up I was raised around many teachers and administrators. My grandmother and grandfather both taught for 30 years. My aunt is a principal in Alamance County. My mother worked in the school system for 14 years. My uncle and dad’s mother both are still in the school system. I think teaching is in my blood!
I have a dog who I love dearly (Tate). Tate was rescued from a puppy mill. When I first got Tate, he had never touched the ground and had no idea how to walk. I had to teach Tate to eat, walk on grass, walk on a leash, etc. He is my best friend and we do EVERYTHING together. Tate loves riding in the car and having his head out of the window!
I am an only child! I do not have any brothers or sisters; however I have many cousins that I am very close with. My family is a very important part of my life. I believe that in this classroom we all will become family. It is very important to me that parents, family members, guardians, and friends stay involved with what is going on in the classroom
I look forward to getting to know you and your child as the year progresses. Please know that I am ALWAYS willing and eager to talk with you. Feel free to contact me at school (746-2121), ext. 3922, with any questions, concerns, positive feedback, etc. I also check email daily at [email protected].
Other ways you can keep informed of what is occurring in the classroom and in our school include our class webpage (reesethirdgrade.weebly.com), Ayden Elementary’s website, the Ayden Elementary School PTA Facebook page, and the Ayden Elementary App. I encourage you to like the PTA Facebook page as it is updated regularly to keep you informed. The App is extremely helpful as well. On our class page you can sign up to receive messages letting you know when the site is updated.
It is very important to create a strong community; a strong community will produce the best results when it consists of school, teachers, parents, and children. It is important to establish a solid relationship between me and your child but it’s equally important for me and you as parents to have a relationship. It will be a pleasure to work with you and your child. I am certain that it will be a fantastic year full of excitement, gained independence, and much learning.
Sincerely,
Ms. Reese
